The Mighty Oak Barrel is a proud member of The Buy Fresh, Buy Local marketplace. The Pennsylvania Buy Fresh, Buy Local program has been uniting local farmers, chefs, green grocers & market managers since 2003.Whether you are a seasonal local bounty hunter or newly tuned into local flavor, The Mighty Oak Barrel is a link to other food fans: A fresh, local group devoted to fresh, local food.
We try to use organic, sustainable, all natural products whenever possible as well as gluten free.(We even have sustainable wine)The great taste of local food, the thrill of discovering fresh new sources and the camaraderie of fellow foodies helps makes us who we are.....In order to work with seasonal vegetables ,we change our entire menu every season (every 3 months). Reservation Only.Our wine tasting is held once a month, both a Wednesday & Thursday.Grainne does a great job selecting interesting wines & wine themes, and I thoroughly enjoy coming up with some innovative fun appetizers to pair with her wine selections.

Along with personality and food knowledge we have a thoughtfully designed beverage program.We have an eclectic wine by the bottle list that includes as many as 50 great wines, with many excellent choices in the $30 range. We offer an extensive variey of red wines, white wines, meritages and champagne. We have a sustainable wine by the bottle and occassional run organic wine specials.We at The Mighty Oak Barrel have our own end of the year Wine Award. We search each year for the best wine in its category at the best price point.This year our Wine of the Year choice is Hedges Family Estate, Red Mountain Blend,2008. The wine displays dense color, firm tannins and well defined acidity.Majority of the blend is Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot but also contains Syrah, Cabernet Franc & Melbec.
We have a great wines by the glass program with no wine exceeding $8. We also feature a red and white wine specials nightly.We run a Wine sale when applicable We offer to our Guests each Wednesday & Thursday a Wine Garage sale where we " clean out our closet," and offer a select variety of bottled wines at just $5 over out cost. The offer is good with a dinner purchase only please. What better way to enjoy a fabulous evening than with great food and great wine at a great price!We also feature an extensive & unique martini list that also changes seasonally. Along with that list is also a nightly martini special.The Mighty Oak Barrel offers authentic Irish coffees not the Irish Coffee you are accustomed to from the "states." Grainne brings to the restaurant her family recipe direct from Ireland... with hints of chocolate & honey, real cream and her family's own secret ingredient.We also have a list of hot coffee drinks. We also carry non-alcoholic drinks & Kaliber n/a beer. So come on in and have a drink with us.
